A spiritual teacher once told me that if we’ve gone 1000 miles down the wrong path, the first thing we need to do is wake up and humbly accept where we are.
The second thing we need to do is stop going further down the wrong path and decide to turn back.
The final thing we need to do is to find a way to get back to our true path as easily and quickly as possible. It may have taken lifetimes to get to where we are now, but it needn’t take lifetimes to return. And getting back to your true path requires you to perceive life as it really is, clearly and without the veil of illusion that clouds your experience. Then you can come into alignment with your dharma.
